Where better to start the final two weeks of our journey than Agra, home to the iconic Taj Mahal. As we try and squeeze a wish-list of North India into our remaning 13 days, while also managing a trip to the test match in Dharamshala, we know it's going to be pretty intense!

It's a long run up north to Amritsar, then a dive across to Dharamshala, before our final train trip down to Delhi, and the flight home!

1st to 3rd

With two full days in Agra, we spent one on a day trip to Gwalior, and then the other on an extended tour of the sights, starting with a pre-dawn Taj Mahal tour.

3rd to 7th

We visited Amritsar, home of the iconic Golden Temple, and also observed how the Indian and Pakistani border forces close the border each day. That was certainly interesting!

7th to 11th

Our final destination of the trip is Dharamshala, or more specifically McLeod Ganj, the home-in-exile of the Dalai Lama and government of Tibet. We explored this mini-Tibet, whilst also sneaking in a day at the final test of the England Tour of India - and what a disappointment that was!

11th to 13th

The sad bit - the long trip home! With a 3 hour taxi ride then a 15 hour overnight train journey to get from Dharamshala to Delhi, we have a single day in the capital, before catching our lunchtime flight back to England on the 13th. At least, thanks to Airmiles, this one will be Premium Economy! One more train back to York, and then we just need a tuk-tuk back to the house! Oh, hang on...
